1. Each year fashion savvy shoppers from Philadelphia’s Main Line and throughout the whole Delaware Valley eagerly await the Community Clothes Charity (CCC) sale of new and gently used designer fashions and accessories. This year, the four day shopping event kicks off on Wednesday, October 26, from 1 pm until 8 pm. The 2016 sale will be held again at the former Waterloo Gardens site located at 136 Lancaster Avenue in Devon PA, and continues with varying hours until 1 pm on Saturday, October 29. CCC volunteers are most grateful that Waterloo LLP has once again generously made it possible for the group to hold the 2016 sale at their property which is located just west of the Devon Horse Show grounds and has ample parking. The “Boutique” area is spacious and features wonderful costume jewelry, scarves, hats, and handbags, designer shoes, plus gifts and an expanded number of small home décor items. Seen in part of the Boutique area, committee members, display some of the many great scarves, jewelry, shoes and handbags that are for sale for just a fraction of their original cost. Board of Directors members and committee members (from left) Julie Jensen Bryan, Lita Haack, CCC co-chair Anne Hamilton, Bebe Strawbridge and Francesca Dalglish were pictured getting ready the shopping extravaganza.

2. CCC’s annual sale is well known for offering famous labels such as Chanel, Hermès, Ferragamo, Carolina Herrera, St. John, Escada, and other designer names that appeal to bargain loving women interested in couture and high fashion. But many other well-known popular labels in all sizes are also very well represented among the large selection of coats, suits, dresses, evening gowns, and sportswear that will all be marked down to just a fraction of  their original cost. This year, the sale has an especially large selection of new items donated by several local well known vendors. Sandy Adzick, Ardis Charrington, CCC C0-Chair, Mellen Vogt, Suzy O’Reilly and Boutique Co-Chairs Liddy Lindsay and Linda Farnum show more of the many handbags, hats and gift items available at bargain prices.

3. The 2016 fundraising sale kicks off with a “Preview Day” on Wednesday, October 26, from 1 pm to 8 pm. Eager shoppers will make a $30 donation at the
door on Wednesday to get the first chance to buy bargain priced fashions and
accessories. On Thursday, October 27, the shopping runs from 12 pm until 8 pm. A donation of $5 is requested on Thursday, but entry is always free the last two days, Friday and Saturday, which are also the 2 days when the already low CCC prices get cut in half. On Friday, October 28, hours are 10 am to 4 pm and on Saturday, October 29, shop for bargains galore from 10 am but just until 1 pm. Funds raised from this event will benefit special projects from past non-profit CCC beneficiaries. (From left) Francie Ingersoll, Nanny Vogt, Anne Wilmerding and Kim Palmer display some designer items and one of the new donated jackets that are for sale.
