The Board of the Willows Park Preserve host garden party

1. On Saturday, September 21, 2019 The Board of the Willows Park Preserve invited guests to wear their garden attire and sample a seasonal menu, including refreshments. They were also invited to listen to live music and stroll through the Willows Mansion and Gardens. Event proceeds will be used for the Willow’s upkeep and maintenance. Willows Park Preserve Board Members were pictured in front of the mansion at the beginning of the event.

1. Dressage at Devon took place at the Devon Horse Show grounds from September 24 to September 29, 2019. The event is a premier North American equestrian event since 1975. It combines world class dressage competition and the world’s largest open breed show with the international Fall Festival shops and special activities for the entire family. The historic and charming Devon Horse Show Grounds, provides the ideal venue for this exciting event.  Denim, Diamonds and Dressage Hat Contest took place on Friday, September 27, 2019. Judges Michelle Leonard, Eddie Ross, Sydney Grims, Deborah Van Cleve, FOX29’s Jennaphr Frederick and Phyllis Gambone chose Joy Mossholder Sporn and her fabulous hat (center) as the winner of Denim, Diamonds and Dressage Hat Contest.  Fearless Restaurants (Autograph,  The White Dog (s) and The Moshulu) served as a  Hat Day advertising sponsor.

Philadelphia Fashion Week’s mission was to strengthen the influence and success of designers in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. 1. On Saturday, October 5, 2019 Pennsylvania Ballet’s annual gala kicked-off the 2019-2020 season with an explosion of color. The black-tie event took place at the URBN Headquarters on the Philadelphia Navy Yard and featured a first look at the Ballet’s annual programming. Guests mingled with the extraordinary artists of Pennsylvania Ballet and former Pennsylvania Governor and former Philadelphia Mayor Edward G. Rendell was honored for his exceptional dedication to the arts. Former Philadelphia Phillie baseball player Garry Maddox, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, past Pennsylvania Governor and Philadelphia Mayor and event honoree Ed Randell, Pennsylvania Ballet’s Executive Director Shelly Power and its Artistic Director Angel Corella paused for a photo following the award presentation.

1. Bridlewild Trails Association is an active local organization which encourages appreciation of Lower Merion’s remarkable natural environment and resources. The trails system, created in 1927 by the riders of the Gladwyne Hunt, benefits all our nature-loving members; hikers and strollers seeking birds, wild flowers, woods, streams, spring houses and local history; scouts following small animal footprints; and riders taking the hills and trotting alongside creeks and fields. This scenic trail system and its natural sites benefit all BTA members by adding immeasurable quality to the enjoyment of life in this community.The Bridlewild Trails Association held its Annual Fall Party at Eagle Farm, the home of Susan Tabas Tepper. Guests enjoyed a light supper and music and words about the association by its president. 1. The Women’s Auxiliary of St. Edmond’s Home held its annual New Member’s Luncheon on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. During the meeting, the ladies addressed invitations for Cup Day, the annual dinner dance, to raise money for the home. The 80th annual Cup Day will be held on Saturday, November 16, at Overbrook Golf Club and will honor Robert Shields of Shields Construction. The home provides medical care, special trips and activities for severely disabled children. of the proceeds Will benefit Go Red For Women. Guests enjoyed shopping at LAGOS while supporting the American Heart Association’s efforts to reduce deaths from heart disease. Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States? It kills nearly half a million women each year at the rate of about one per minute. The Cancer Support Community, an agency that helps thousands of cancer patients and their families with a variety of free programs, hosted “Unmasking Cancer” on Thursday, October 10 at The Lucy in Philadelphia. CSC raises awareness about the importance of confronting all the complicated emotions of having cancer. The event highlighted some of the things people hide from when it comes to cancer and aims to enlighten all to CSC’s free services that are so critical to cancer patients, caregivers and their families. The luncheon began with introductory remarks and recognized 20 outstanding women of the Main Line and the Western Suburbs who are leaders in their respective fields. The scheduled highlight of the 2019 luncheon was 2018 honoree for Women on the Move and award-winning Philadelphia radio host, Kathy Romano. Kathy Romano is a reporter who started her own show on WMMR sister station 95.7 BEN FM called “Her Story” which is an entertainment style show that focuses on influential women.
