DEB_PARTY001

1. On Wednesday, July 27, 2016, Dîner en Blanc supporters and vendors gathered for DEB’s pop-up party at Williams-Sonoma in the Bellevue Hotel, Philadelphia. Attendees shopped for hats, fascinators and other white accessories during the event. This year’s Dîner en Blanc will be returning to a secret location somewhere in the fabulous City of Philadelphia on Thursday, August 18, 2016. The “dinner in white,” is like a gustatory Brigadoon, equal parts mystery, anachronism and caprice! Now attended by thousands at some of the best-known Parisian spaces, it began humbly in 1988. That year, François Pasquier returned to Paris after a few years abroad and held a dinner party to reconnect with friends. So many wanted to come that he asked them to convene at the Bois de Boulogne and to dress in white, so they could find each other! DEB co-chairs Kayli Moran and Natanya DiBona paused for a photo with Lila Colello, Executive Pastry Chef/owner of Brûlée Bakery. Brûlée Bakery brought a number of scrumptious baked items to the Pop-Up Party!

The Chestnut Hill Committee for The Philadelphia Orchestra and FARNAN Jewelers at 105 North Wayne Avenue in Wayne will team up for “Breakfast at Farnan’s” on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 10 a.m. to Noon. The breakfast will highlight the recent expansion and renovation of Farnan Jewelers and showcase their $4,500 contribution of multi-colored diamond earrings to JEWEL NOEL, Philadelphia’s annual holiday event. Voted “Best Unique Jewelry” by Main Line Suburban Life in 2015, Farnan Jewelers continues to win awards for fine quality jewelry, service & design. Established in 1915 by Edward A. Farnan in downtown Philadelphia, Edwards’ sons, John and Ed moved to the Wayne address in 1976. Today, John’s daughter, Claire Farnan, master jeweler and Belgium diamond importer, continues the legacy with innovation, refinement and vision. For over forty years, The Chestnut Hill Committee for The Philadelphia Orchestra has hosted JEWEL NOEL, benefitting the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Vendors from around the community, the country and the world will allow our guests to kick-off their holiday season shopping.
